When you see this line on your flist, quote something from Doctor Who.

This is my Timey-Wimey detector. Goes ding when there's stuff. Also, it can boil an egg at thirty paces. Whether you want it to or no, actually. I've learned to stay away from hens. It's not pretty when they blow.

hi *waves*

First off, you don't know me. I wander quite a bit and I just came across your page and felt the need to comment. :)

I've seen all of Torchwood, but nothing of Dr. Who. I'd like to watch it, but I feel like it is daunting task... so many seasons! But, this quote was very funny, so pretty soon, I might give it a try.

Secondly, I LOVE your icons!!!! I just watched the vid of David winning the award and running around while screaming. I thought to myself... I really want that as an icon. Two days later, I see a post that you commented on using that icon. Clearly, you are made of win! So, while looking at all your icons, I see that you have the OMG-so-funny scene from Sports Night with Natalie and Dan. I seriously lol'd.

So, I guess that is enough for the random-ness...

hi **waves wildly**

No worries, I am as fond of random strangers as I am of Random Shoes. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

I have just gotten into the New Doctor Who so it is not such a daunting task if you start with the new series. I work with two Whovians who helped me out with the Doctor Who references on Torchwood so I thought I should watch myself. I am really enjoying the Doctor and have started making DW icons now. Don't know how far back I will go, but I visited the UK a few weeks ago and bought some DW magazines so I might give a go at a few Old Who eps.

I have friended you as we seem to have a lot of interests in common. Hope you don't mind!

I sort of save the Crazy Happy icon for myself so haven't offered it for snurching but feel free to grab any of the other ones. I post a couple of times a month usually.

Yay new friends!!

Hmmmm... I'm used to coming into fandoms late, so that doesn't bother me. I kinda came late into the whole SG verse, so I'm up on SGA, but I just blitzed through SG-1. Blockbuster pass is awesome! Next on my list is either BSG or Dr. Who... I like to do things one at a time, otherwise I'd start them both. :)

So, did you make the icon? Eventually, I'd love to learn how to make animated icons. Did you take the vid from here (http://youtube.com/watch?v=N3n4z3Nrn7w)? What I want to make is an icon from 1:13 to 1:16 or so... soooo funny!

Anywho... thanks for friending me!

BSG is pretty deep - lots of stuff to think about. If you really want to get into it I would recommend the podcast at Galactica Watercooler (//www.galacticawatercooler.com).

Doctor Who is much lighter but as you realize, with a lot of history and backstory. It is much more a children's show than Torchwood but can be pretty scary.

I actually had recorded the Spacey Awards on my DVR so I used my own, but that is the same broadcast. I used this tutorial (http://paintmespotless.livejournal.com/16263.html).

New friends - always win!
