It was originally broadcast quite a long time ago starting in 1995. I know there were 5 seasons and the only one who remained of the original cast by season 5 was Rembrant. I don't think they ever got home to "Earth Prime". They started bringing aliens and other things into the show and it wasn't as good after season 3. I am up to the 8th episode in Season 1 so far.
